Partner-and-spouse crew Lindsay Taylor and Brian Nelson introduced their school to teach people to enjoy ukulele, guitar and fiddle in two leased classrooms at Desert Academy.
Then the pandemic arrived alongside. Queen Bee shifted to digital and personal lessons until finally June this year. By then, Desert Academy experienced shut down.
Taylor and Nelson began weekly kid singalongs for ages 5 and youthful just about every Wednesday at the Railyard Park in June and added child singalongs at the Southside Branch Library in September. In addition there was a 4-7 days summer months camp in July and August at Desert Montessori Faculty.
But Queen Bee Music Association wanted its very own home.

Taylor and Nelson are starting up with 4 instructors and 10-7 days classes with instruction in ukulele, guitar and percussion. Price is $20 per course and registration is through queenbeemusicassociation.org.

Queen Bee is fundraising for $5,000 for paint, home furniture and educating materials.
Taylor’s day occupation is communications director for the recently reactivated Inventive Santa Fe, and she performs flute, mandolin, fiddle and ukulele. Nelson is a “drummer by trade” but also performs guitar and piano and does new music generation. He teaches music in community educational facilities and operates audio at the Lensic Carrying out Arts Centre.
“For our little ones, initially and foremost, we’re striving to have music be a beneficial practical experience,” Nelson stated. “We go at a sluggish rate. “We want to establish local community through new music,” Taylor reported. “Music has the skill to hook up folks in a way very few artwork varieties can. There is a connection that occurs when you are playing songs with other men and women.”
